Wanlong Heavy building company is a fast developed ship building company located in China Zhejiang Taizhou city. On October 15, his new built DWT55000 cargo ship was successfully launched by Eversafe launch team with 53 pieces marine air bags.
The cargo ship named "yong ning 3" means eternal peace. It has 199.98 m total length ,32.26 m moulded breadth and 16.6 m depth. Its design deadweight reaches 55000 tonnes.
Eversafe marine is the pioneer in airbag engineering field. His good track records win most clients' trust. To ensure the safety of this big ship launch, Eversafe team gathers all necessary data and performed detailed calculation. Also the 3D simulation was carried to find if there was any fault of launch plan.
Different from medium size ship airbag launching, the arrangement of airbags need to be enhanced at some special positions. Also people have to consider the control of initial launch angle which will effect the maximum inclination angle and stern floatation position. Obviously the abrupt stern drop or float will cause launch disaster.
On October 12 Eversafe launch team arrived at Wanlong shipyard. It took the team 3 days to complete ship lifting with marine airbags. Since the water level is good enough for launch, then there is no need to move ship forward before launch. The ship's initial angle was measured when it was totally lifted by air bags. By adjusting airbags' pressures people adjusted tilted angle of ship to be demanded figure. At am 9:30 of October 15th when water reached demanded level people released the pulling wires the ship moved into water slowly with rolling airbags. At about 130 meters launch distance the ship totally floated.
Eversafe Marine treats every projects as the most important one. Air bags ship launching is a good technology which overcomes limitation of traditional slipway launch. With the launch weight increasing the calculation of airbag ship launching should get more concern from launching team or shipyard.
